BMO Convention

About Project
The BMO Convention Centre in Calgary, Canada, has received a major expansion with a C$500 million ($373.2 million) investment. This expansion makes it the largest conference facility in western Canada and the second largest in the country. Designed to host a wide range of events, including conventions, congresses, meetings, galas, and trade shows, the expanded venue is set to boost tourism in Calgary.
Developed by Hodgson Engineers, the expansion is part of the city’s Rivers District Master Plan, aiming to transform the area into a cultural and entertainment hub. The design for the expansion was revealed in June 2020, with groundbreaking taking place in April 2021.
The expanded BMO Convention Centre will open in June 2024, offering state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate large-scale events. This development is expected to have a significant impact on Calgary’s economy and tourism industry.
